Why sailors choose the First 36.7
The First 36.7 is a Farr-designed racer-cruiser built with one-design racing in mind, with owner-driver rules and sail limits in its fleets, while still being comfortable enough to cruise. Owners get a boat that points high and is quick in light air for a production cruiser and sells at a good price. The cockpit is cluttered for short-handed sailing and the interior is snug.
- One-design fleets with owner-driver and sail-limit rules
- Also races well under handicap
- Faster and higher-pointing in light air than typical cruisers
- Good value; Sailing World Best Value award
- Big wheel and traveller crowd the cockpit; small head

What sailors and testers say · in our words, from the linked pages
Built for one-design racing with tight weight control and owner-driver fleet rules, it sails quicker and higher in light air than comparable production cruisers.

Drawbacks include little cockpit stowage, a wheel and traveller that get in the way of short-handed crews, and a very small head.
