Why sailors choose the Dufour 34
The Felci-designed Dufour 34 is a performance cruiser that won European Yacht of the Year and became popular for club racing and cruising, especially in the Mediterranean. Testers found it easily driven, balanced and quick out of tacks, with a cockpit that works for both a racing crew and short-handed cruising. The interior is practical but not the roomiest in its class.
- Easily driven hull with a sweet, balanced helm
- Accelerates quickly out of tacks
- Cockpit works for race crew and short-handed cruising
- Practical, seaworthy interior with good headroom
- Interior less spacious and finish only average

What sailors and testers say · in our words, from the linked pages
A lively, award-winning boat that slips along with little effort and is a pleasure to steer, with a practical though not roomy interior.
Yachting Monthly test · Yachting Monthly, 2003
Its balanced helm, quick acceleration and racing-friendly cockpit impressed him, while the narrow forward berth and tight aft cabin were drawbacks.
